CityWell is a church community in Chapel Hill, NC for people of all backgrounds, stories, and seasons of life. Whether you've been following Jesus for decades or you're just curious about faith, you are welcome here — exactly as you are.

We're not a polished performance. We're a family learning to live and love together, rooted in the way of Jesus. Our hope is that you'll find a place where you truly belong.

What to expect

Arrival

Come as you are

There's no dress code. Jeans and a t-shirt are as welcome as a Sunday best. Arrive a few minutes early and grab a free coffee in the lobby.

The Service

Worship & Teaching

Our Sunday gathering lasts about 75 minutes and includes music, Scripture reading, a message, and prayer. It's participatory, not a spectator event.

Kids

CityBabies & CityKids

We love having kids with us! During the service, we offer age-appropriate programming for children 0–10. All kids are also welcome in the main service.

FAQs

Do I have to be a Christian to come?

Absolutely not. We have folks at all stages — lifelong believers, curious seekers, and everyone in between. You don't need to have things figured out to belong here.

Will I be asked to give money?

No. We pass a bowl for those who call CityWell home, but if you're visiting, please don't feel any pressure. Our giving is completely voluntary and you'll never be singled out.

Is CityWell LGBTQ+ affirming?

Yes. CityWell is a fully affirming and welcoming community for LGBTQ+ people and their families. Read our full statement here.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in the lot adjacent to our building. Visit our contact page for the full address and parking details.

What should I expect after the service?

We hang around! After the service, people linger in the lobby with coffee and conversation. It's one of our favorite parts of the week. You won't feel like you're being pushed out the door.
