Our Commitment

All means all

CityWell is a community where all people are welcome — regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic status, family situation, physical or mental ability, or educational background.

Our doors are open to the skeptic and the devout, the wounded and the whole, the celebrated and the forgotten. You do not need to agree with us, look like us, or have your life together to belong here. You simply need to come.

This is not a strategic posture or a denominational policy. It flows from our deepest conviction: that Jesus, who ate with tax collectors and sinners and touched those no one else would touch, invites all of humanity to his table. We are trying to be people who set that table.

We acknowledge that the church has often failed the people Jesus most sought — the marginalized, the excluded, the despised. We are sorry for those failures, and we are committed to doing better. Inclusion for us is not a destination. It is a practice we return to every day.

A Further Word

For our LGBTQ+ siblings

We want to be especially clear: LGBTQ+ people are fully welcomed, fully included, and fully affirmed at CityWell. We do not view sexual orientation or gender identity as disqualifying in any way from belonging, serving, or leading in our community.
